The structure of a precise miniature ball screw system comprises three primary components: the threaded shaft, the nut, and the steel balls. The threaded shaft is typically a long, slender component. The nut features internal grooves that match the dimensions of the balls. The steel balls reside between the shaft and the nut. They transmit force through their rolling action across these two components, ensuring efficient and precise movement.
MIF0602B: the 6mm Diameter Ball Screw with a 2mm leadNut Type: Standard Nut
Cycle Mode: Round Floating Deflector
Nut Shape: Round Nut with flange
Miniature Ball Screws are used in precision applications such as medical devices, automation equipment, 3D printers, and small robotic systems. They offer high accuracy and smooth motion control in compact spaces.
Currently, high-quality locking nuts available on the market feature copper inserts embedded in their inner circular surfaces, with threads matching those of the locking nuts themselves. These inserts prevent direct contact between radial set screws and the locked threads, thereby avoiding damage to the latter. Such locking nuts are widely used in scenarios requiring axial locking of rotating components, such as anti-loosening applications for bearings at the mounting ends of linear screw drive.
Through holes (typically two, distributed at 90° on the outer circular surface) are drilled from the outer circular surface to the inner threaded surface of the locking nut. These holes are designed to accommodate small-diameter countersunk set screws, which apply a centripetal force to the threads, effectively preventing the locking nut from loosening.
