Four Support Methods of Ball Screw Set
1. One End Fixed and One End Free
1) Simple structure, low axial stiffness, and critical speed, resulting in poor stability of the ball screw. Mostly used for short strokes and vertical transmission.
2) One end with combined angular contact bearings, and the other end is free.

2. One End Fixed and One End Supported
1) The most typical and commonly used installation method for ball screw mechanisms, suitable for medium-speed occasions requiring high stiffness and precision.
2) The support end has relatively lower rigidity.
3) One end with combined angular contact bearings, and the other end with deep groove ball bearings.

3. Both Ends Supported
1) Suitable for general occasions with medium speed, and low requirements for stiffness and precision. This form has a simple structure, small bearing rigidity, poor force condition, and is less commonly used.
2) Both ends are equipped with deep groove ball bearings.

4. Both Ends Fixed
1) Can bear high axial loads. The axial stiffness of the ball screw is about 4 times higher than that of the one-end fixed and one-end supported installation method. Suitable for high-speed rotation, high-precision occasions, and when the ball screw is long. This installation method also has disadvantages, such as a complex structure and high sensitivity to thermal deformation of the ball screw, which is used in machines requiring axial rigidity.
2) Used in machine tools with high rigidity requirements.
3) The most significant feature of this support method: The ball screw is pre-stretched to compensate for thermal deformation caused by frictional temperature rise during high-speed rotation.
4) Both ends are equipped with combined angular contact bearings (configured in DT-DB group installation).
