One of the advantages of HOJAMA Miniature Ball Screws is their high accuracy. HOJAMA Ball Screws and Ball Nuts are available in C3 and C5 grades(C3 is more precise than C5) Ball Screw Inspection:
1. Appearance Inspection: Carefully check the surface of the ball screw for scratches, rust, dents, or other damages.
2. Lubrication Condition Inspection: Observe whether the lubricating oil or grease is evenly distributed and if there is any oil shortage. If the lubricant turns black or its viscosity decreases, it may indicate that the lubricant has aged or worn out and needs to be replaced with new lubricant.
3. Smoothness of Movement Inspection: Manually rotate the screw or drive its movement to feel for jamming or unsmooth operation.
4. Noise Inspection: Listen for abnormal noises during operation, which may indicate a fault. If abnormal noises are heard during work—such as hissing or friction sounds from bearings—it may be a sign of poor lubrication, requiring immediate inspection of the lubrication condition.
5. Accuracy Inspection: Use specialized testing tools or compare with standard parts to check if there are changes in the positioning accuracy and repeatability of the linear ball screw.
6. Clearance Inspection: Check for abnormal clearance between the screw shaft and ball nut.
7. Connection Component Inspection: Inspect components connected to the ball screw system, such as bearing housings and couplings, to ensure connections are tight and free from looseness.
8. Temperature Inspection: Check if the temperature of the ball screw set is abnormally high after operation by touching it with hands or using temperature measuring instruments. If the bearing temperature is excessively high during operation, it may be caused by insufficient lubrication, requiring an increase in lubricant dosage or replacement of the lubricant.
9. Cleanliness Inspection: Check for excessive accumulation of dust, debris, or other foreign matter around the ball screw system.
10. Thread Inspection: Inspect the threads of the ball screw pair for integrity and any damage.
