Hojama cylindrical Ball Splines are available in 6mm to 50mm diameters and have hollow or solid spline shafts. There are longitudinal keyways on the outer surface of the shaft. The rotating parts mounted on the shaft also have matching keyways, which enable them to rotate synchronously with the shaft. When rotating, some parts can slide along the shaft in the longitudinal direction.

The clearance between the steel balls and the raceway is minimal, and the rolling friction coefficient of the balls is very low; the ball spline can respond quickly to tiny motion commands and achieve precise coordinated work in complex motion control.
