What is the motion system of a precise linear guide?

The operation modes of the linear motion system are rich and diverse, which makes the design requirements show significant differential characteristics. The service life of the linear guide is affected by various factors, such as the size of the load, the operating speed, the dimensional specifications, etc., and it is difficult to generalize the importance of these factors. For enterprises that are new to linear slide rails, making an appropriate choice under the consideration of multiple factors often becomes a problem that troubles them. In the chainless linear rails, when the steel balls roll between the slide rail and the slide carriage, the relative speed of the steel ball points reaches twice their rotational speed. Since this type of linear motion rail adopts the contact mode of steel balls at the ball points, the contact area is relatively small. According to the formula for planar pressure (which is equal to the mutual pushing force of the steel balls divided by the contact area), when the contact area approaches a minimum value, the planar pressure will approach infinity. Therefore, the steel balls of the chainless linear slide rail are extremely prone to mutual wear.
