Linear guideways are also known as slide rails, linear guides, or linear slide rails. They are assembled from slide rails, sliders, balls, ball retainers, ball return grooves, and so on. Hojama linear guide is used to
Characteristics of the Linear Guide Rail:
1. Linear rails, due to the point-surface contact, have very small frictional resistance. They can perform minute movements and achieve highly precise positioning of control devices and so on.
2. In the guide rail system, since the balls possess their rolling grooves, the force acting on the rotating surface gets dispersed. As a result, it has a relatively large allowable load-bearing capacity.
3. The guide rail is not prone to generating frictional heat during operation and is less likely to deform due to heat. Therefore, it is suitable for high-speed motion.
4. Typically, the contact angle of each ball row of the guide rail is 45°, which enables the four acting directions (radial, anti-radial, and lateral) on the slider to have the same rated load.
The linear guide rail is a rolling guide. The steel balls roll in a cycle, enabling the load-bearing platform to achieve high-precision linear motion. The rolling guide has a low coefficient of friction and a small starting frictional force, making it easy to achieve micron-level feeding.
The linear guides can withstand loads in multiple directions, surpassing traditional sliding guides. When combined with ball screws, they can improve the accuracy and mechanical efficiency of the equipment.
It has the ability of automatic centering, which can ensure high precision when the machine is in operation without causing problems and operational errors. Linear guide rails have a certain degree of interchangeability, and there are no errors within a certain range.
1. According to the differences in applicable loads, linear rails are mainly classified into micro, medium, and heavy-duty types. Since the load of linear guide rails is mainly transmitted by balls, the main difference between micro, medium, and heavy-duty types lies in the number of rows of balls.
1) Miniature linear guide rails generally have two rows of steel balls, with four-point contact with the rail surface and a compact structure.
2) Medium and heavy-duty linear motion guides generally have four rows of steel balls, which improves their load-bearing capacity.
Generally, miniature linear guideways' basic dynamic load rating is within 10 KN, while that of medium and heavy-duty linear guide rails can be as high as 80 KN.
2. According to the differences in the width of the guide rail and the width and length of the slider, linear guide rails can be classified as follows:
