Classifying Ball Screws Based on Function

According to the functional characteristics, ball screws can be classified into self-lubricating ball screws, silent ball screws, high-speed ball screws, and heavy-duty ball screws.

 

1. Self-lubricating Ball Screws

Self-lubricating ball screws are innovatively equipped with detachable oil removal devices. This design eliminates the dependence on traditional lubrication piping systems and equipment. As a result, it not only overcomes space limitations and cuts costs associated with piping installation but also significantly reduces the frequency of oil changes and simplifies waste oil disposal.

 

2. Silent Ball Screws

Silent roller screws feature specially grooved ball spacers between the balls, which alter the contact and movement patterns of the balls. When the screw operates, these spacers effectively suppress ball-to-ball collisions and reduce vibrations, enabling smoother and quieter operation. They are ideal for medical equipment and high-end office devices where noise control is crucial.

 

3. High-speed Ball Screws

High-speed ball screws achieve excellent performance with optimized material properties, thread structures, and ball configurations. They feature high acceleration, high rigidity, high-speed feeding, low vibration, and low noise. They are suitable for high-speed machining applications such as rapid feeding of machine tools, high-speed grinding centers, and high-speed longitudinal load cutting centers.

 

4. Heavy-duty Ball Screws

Heavy-duty ball screws can bear substantial axial loads by increasing ball diameter, ball quantity, and optimizing raceway structures. In heavy-duty equipment like all-electric design machines and full-presses, they resist large axial forces during operation, ensuring stable equipment operation. They are the core components of heavy-duty mechanical transmission systems.
